Does size matter for shipment?

Yes, since vessel capacity is not really limited by the weight of the cargo but by the hold of the ship, then charges for regular ocean shipments are based on the total cargo volume. In general for sea shipments, the weight of the cargo is not a pricing factor.

On the other hand, air freight is based on both the actual weight and chargeable weight of the cargo.

How is chargeable weight calculated for air shipment?

There is a special formula.

Example: Volumetric calculation

Example: Volumetric calculation for a pallet: 140 x 100 x 90 cm Actual Volume : 1.4 x 1.0 x 0.9 = 1.26 cubic meters
Calculating Volumetric Weight : 1.26 cubic meters divided by 0.006 = 210 This is the volumetric weight of the shipment in Kilograms.

The actual weight of the pallet may be 150 Kg from which the Airfreight will be charged against the volumetric weight 210 Kg. If the pallet's actual weight is 260 Kg it would be charged against the actual weight of the shipment.

Just give us all three dimensions and we will calculate the chargeable weight for you.

What is the maximum size or weight?

This varies depending on the shipping line / airline. So, please ask us.

As the weight and size increase, so will the cost. If your cargo is oversized or requires special handling, ask us about the special rates.

Do you have warehouse where I can drop off the cargo?

Yes, we and our network of agents have receiving warehouses near all major ports and airports.

Please let us know your cargo location and we will advise you about the closest receiving warehouse.

Do you have office at destination that can help us?

Yes, we have a lot of reliable agents with whom we work with at different locations.

Please check with us, our agents will be able to help you for any service at destination.

Can you handle door delivery at destination? Can you handle pick up from supplier?

Yes, please help to provide us your pick up address, and we will check the cost for you.

What are some of the destination charges?

DESTINATION CHARGES - All Sea and Air freight shipments are subject to destination charges and/or other fees. The charges are to be paid by the Recipient/Consignee at the destination. These charges generally include, but are not limited to:

• Port and Airport handling charges
• Container stripping/de-stuffing
• Destination warehouse handling
• Destination Customs Clearance
• Duty and Taxes if applicable
• Delivery to ultimate destination
• Etc.

What will the transit/sailing time for my shipment be? What is ETA?

Estimated Transit Time (ETT) is the expected arrival time once the cargo has been shipped. The ETT is not always precise and depends on several factors (i.e. vessel schedule, pre-carriage and on-carriage conditions, origin and destination customs, etc.).

More accurate sailing details will be specified in the shipping instructions once the booking has been confirmed.

Though we will work diligently to ensure your shipment arrives on time, for Sea Freight, the transit/sailing time indicated in your shipping documents is not always precise. Estimated Time of Departure (ETD) and Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) cannot guarantee a specific transit time. However, in most cases, shipments depart and arrive as scheduled.

What is typically transit time?

Airport to airport : 3-5 days on average. Door to door varies depending on customs clearance, estimated between 5 to 7 days.

Port to Port : 30-45 days on average depending routes and trans-shipment vessel availability.

Delays and/or changes to schedules can happen.

Are there types of cargo that cannot be shipped via air freight?

Yes, anything hazardous, flammable, dangerous, chemicals, etc. that are not in compliance with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations for Air Transport.

What are the dimensions acceptable for shipments by aircraft?

Packages on passenger aircraft can be less than but should not exceed the dimensions specified: 318 cm (125 inches) of length; 223 cm (88 inches) of width; or 157 cm (62inches) of height.
